How do you know if you are in an unhealthy relationship?? Remember falling in love with God is the first thing you need to do.? Second, how are you handling your responsibilities??? True love energizes you, lust tires you out. My third observation has to do with family and friends. ?True love strengthens other relationships; lust weakens them.? ?In other words, how is your relationship with your mom and dad?? Lust often causes strain between you and your parents.? This is mainly because couples in ?lust? are often hiding secrets about their relationship from others.
A prime example is that they are being too physical with each other and have allowed lust to take over.? The other reason for secrets often has to do with boundaries set by mom and dad.? We are crossing those boundaries or rules, so we have to hide it.? So let me ask the question, are you keeping secrets?? How is your relationship with your friends?? Do you no longer spend time with them or with family?
In my observation, true love is often shared with family and friends.? It is open and honest about the couple?s struggles and is ready to serve others and overflow into others? lives.? Listen to the words of Jesus in Matthew 22:39: ?And the second is like it:? ?Love your neighbor as yourself.?? ??Remember, Jesus was asked what the greatest commandment is.? He replied ??Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.? 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ?Love your neighbor as yourself.? 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.? Matthew 22:37-40. When you are in love it affects all of your relationships either in a positive way or a negative way.?? If you are in an unhealthy relationship, those closest to you (friends and parents) will let you know either verbally or by their actions.
