ECommerce How to make more sales with your business website

Im happy for Juaentrepreneur to publicly post my report on the forum, if he is.

I agree, it may be of benefit to others.

Brian

With your permission, here is Brian McShane's website analysis, some really key points in here that you all can learn from.

Point #1:

This should be your attention grabber. It should be the very first thing a person should see and be able to understand what your websiteis about and what you offer.

You should understand that any person that lands on your site, they are asking you questions. Some questions that linger in their heads when they go on a site that is selling a product/service is:
"What is this site and what do they offer?" "How can your product/service help me or benefit me in anyway?"

It's your job to answer those questions for them. The problem with your headline (which is also your attention grabber) is that you're making themdo the work by asking them the question. Get to the point. Keep it simple and don't make the user think too much. When I first read that headline, I was very confused myself ask to why you are asking me that question. Instead of giving a question to the user and making them think more about what you have offer, simply keep it simple and write a headline that will not only entice them but solves the questions that they have in their minds like I mentioned above (What is this site? What do you do? What is your product/service? How can this help me in anyway? etc...)

Point #2:

You have a good navigation. It's always good to keep the navigation simple and as straight-foward as possible. Like I said on Point #1, your website and your job is to answer all the questions that the user might have when they reach upon your site and you can also do that by having a navigation bar that is suited to solve their problems.

For example, a user might be interested in buying the book, BOOM, you have the "BUY THE BOOK" section.

Maybe a user wants to know more about the author, BOOM, you have "About the Author".

So step into the shoes of the people that would buy your book and see what questions they would have if they were to buy your book and apply the navigation to solving those questions to make purchasing it as easy as possible for them.

Point #3:

This picture should belong in "About the author". The picture doesn't benefit in helping your customer understand more about your product. What you should have and consider having is a high-impact sales video that will explain about your book. Instead of your picture, consider creating a video of yourself addressing the customer and providing some more information about the book
and how it can benefit them.

Plus by having a sales video, it will eliminate the long hours of sales copy that you have to write.

Videos are the future of websites. It not only glues them onto the site but make your site more professional and trustworthy. If you don't want to make a video of yourself, consider making an animations video.

Point #4:

This is great. A good lesson is never underestimated the importance of offering value to your customers first. By giving them 2 free chapters, they can further explore more onto your book and see if they are interested. Also, I think you already know this and implemented this but it also collects a good email list of your customers and you can slowly interact with them and start building a good relationship with that email list, which is great.

Point #5:

Where are your social media links? Facebook and Twitter should be on the site. Because your site is like a landing page, the user wants to know that you are legit and not another e-book deal like a lot of other internet marketers on the internet. Just having the social media links there builds trust and makes the user give you more trust because they know this is real so make sure to add them onto your site.

Point #6:

I saw your "ABOUT THE BOOK" section and there is MASSIVE SALES COPY there. The truth is NO ONE is going to entirely read that. It's a lot of information. People nowadays SCAN through text. You really want to get to the point and not sugar coat anything. People aren't stupid anymore. Sales copy is everywhere. That's why I considered having a sales video onto your site. It will make it a lot
more effective.

But for this point, you need to have sales copy onto the homepage. Your home page has nothing. Your homepage is the first impression that the user gets on you and if you don't have sales copy explaining what the hell you offer and trying to sell, the user will not buy it.

Take some of the sales copy from the "ABOUT THE BOOK" secion and put it on the homepage. And a key tip is to not put all the testimonials TOGETHER. Write a couple of paragraphs and then put a testimonial in the middle. Write a couple more paragraphs and then put another testimonial, blah blah you get the point.

Also, you need to have a CALL TO ACTION. You need to have a BUY NOW button. People will not buy your book unless to tell them to do it. Tell your customers what to do. Have a call to action button aka BUY NOW button and give them the price for it. Let them know your price. People will always search for the price first, you've done it yourself and I do it too. When buying something and there's a sales copy, we always tend to look for the price first. Be straightforward, don't try to weasel the price through and make it hard to find. People aren't stupid anymore and will respect your honesty and straight forwardness than a site that's trying to pump them up and hide their prices.
